On June 9, the Government unveiled its Support Plan for the aeronautics sector heavily impacted by the COVID19 crisis.
🤔 What measures are put in place by this plan?
✔️ Development of financial support systems for exports:
➡️ Increase support from Bpifrance Assurance Export for sector exports
➡️ Implement a moratorium on principal repayments of export credits granted to airlines for 12 months from the end of March 2020
➡️ Propose a temporary relaxation of the reimbursement terms for purchases of new aircraft
✔️ Military, civil security and gendarmerie command:
➡️ Advance orders for planes, helicopters and drones worth €832M, thus providing concrete and immediate support for preserving jobs, particularly in SMEs and mid-sized companies
✔️ Support for supply: Consolidate the sector and strengthen its investments to improve its competitiveness:
➡️ Part 1 – Creation of an aeronautical investment fund: an equity support tool to preserve critical know-how and improve the competitiveness of SMEs and ETIs. Objective: deploy a total amount of €1 billion in debt and equity over time
➡️ Part 2 – Creation of a public support fund for the diversification, modernization and environmental transformation of processes with €300M over 3 years
➡️ Part 3 – Intensification of support for R&D efforts to make France one of the most advanced countries in “green” aircraft technologies
